SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability as a daily commitment

A focus on the environment, people and the local area is at the heart of the Battistella Company’s vision and guides every strategic choice. From the design of production processes to the selection of materials, from compliance with standards and certifications to the protection of health, safety and workers’ rights, the company’s commitment is based on ESG principles. A path guided by a clear objective: to grow responsibly and sustainably, generating shared and lasting value for the community, partners and future generations.

  • ECOLOGICAL PANELS
The use of 100% recycled wood panels is the result of a high-tech industrial process that avoids the felling of new trees, significantly reducing the environmental impact. All the panels used are non-toxic and E1 certified, with emissions close to zero, guaranteeing high quality standards and maximum protection of people's health.
  • BIO WATER-BASED LACQUER
Water-based paints have been used since 2002, and in 2023 they evolved into the BIO version with resins derived from biomass. With a very low environmental impact, they are high-performance, durable and safe for people and the environment.
  • CIRCULAR ECONOMY AS A STRATEGY
The approach to the circular economy is embodied in the almost total recovery of production waste, which is reintroduced into the production cycle, in the reduction of packaging and in the optimisation of industrial processes. This is complemented by a careful selection of suppliers who share the same sustainability criteria. A model geared towards reducing waste and consuming fewer new resources.

Made in Italy as a strategic pillar

For the Group, the excellence of Made in Italy is not only a distinctive element of its identity, but the cornerstone of a strategy of development and consolidation in international markets. This vision goes beyond design and translates into ethical and responsible procurement management.
The choice of a short supply chain is a concrete response to the reduction of environmental impact: 91% of suppliers are Italian, of which 41% operate at “”zero km””, within the same province as the production plants. This model allows for a significant reduction in transport-related emissions and contributes to generating socio-economic value for the region. Valuing local skills means investing in sustainable, transparent and lasting quality.

Social sustainability: safety and well-being of the community

The health, safety and well-being of employees are strategic pillars of company policy and are promoted through high standards of protection, flexible organisational models and initiatives aimed at fostering a sustainable work-life balance, with positive effects on productivity and satisfaction.

The economic aspect is rewarded in the form of an annual performance bonus, which can be converted into supplementary pension schemes or welfare services, with company contributions to support families. Particular attention is paid to the new generations through the provision of scholarships for employees’ children, an initiative that strengthens the sense of belonging and business continuity.

The ethical management of the hours bank allows the solidarity-based transfer of accumulated hours to colleagues in difficult situations, with a 20% surcharge paid by the company. The framework is completed by a psychological support service and programmes aimed at facilitating generational change, with a view to transferring skills and enhancing experience.

To encourage involvement and attractiveness among young people in the area, the company also promotes university internship programmes and work-study programmes, contributing to the development of human capital and the local social fabric.

Shared value: investing in the local area, with inclusion and training

The link with the territory is expressed not only through the creation of employment, but also through support for initiatives dedicated to education, sport and social inclusion. The promotion of healthy lifestyles is evidenced by the partnership with Nutribullet Treviso Basket, a team playing in Serie A, which strengthens a culture of sport oriented towards wellbeing and the sharing of positive values.

The community vision also translates into a concrete commitment to social inclusiveness, through support for ATL-Etica, a Social Enterprise registered with Single National Register of the Third Sector (RUNTS), which guarantees the right to sport to people of all ages and economic conditions. This collaboration contributes to the dissemination of sustainable and accessible sports practice, promoting collective well-being.

Our social commitment extends to supporting foundations that work to help vulnerable groups, such as “I Bambini delle Fate”, which funds inclusion projects related to autism in the province of Treviso. It also contributes to the TOG (Together to Go) Foundation in Milan, by furnishing the centre of excellence dedicated to the rehabilitation and training of children with serious illnesses. These synergies strengthen the relationship with the community, enhancing inclusion as a lever for social growth.

The collaboration with the Collegio Balbi Valier in Pieve di Soligo completes this commitment on the educational front, supporting educational innovation through the CLIL project, aimed at enhancing English language skills and the international openness of students. The synergy between school and business fosters dynamic learning and contributes to the cultural development of the area.

Together, these initiatives consolidate the company’s role as a responsible social actor, capable of generating shared value, inclusion and a positive and lasting impact on the community.

Sustainability report: transparency and accountability

Starting in 2024, the Group publishes the Sustainability Report, a structured tool for reporting on environmental, social and governance performance. This choice has helped to strengthen the confidence of customers, investors and employees, generating competitive value and facilitating access to new markets.

Internally, the Sustainability Report represents a fundamental support for process monitoring, impact measurement and continuous improvement of operational efficiency. The commitment to sustainability also strengthens the company’s ability to attract, enhance and retain qualified skills, supporting responsible and lasting development.

As part of its commitment to transparency and integrity, the company has adopted a Code of Ethics that defines principles, values and rules of conduct for employees, management, collaborators and partners. The document is an operational reference for business decisions and is supported by specific monitoring and control activities, aimed at ensuring its effective application.

Through the Code of Ethics, corporate values are translated into a public, concrete and verifiable commitment, strengthening a culture of responsibility, fairness and good governance at all levels of the organisation.
